Isaiah 10:20-25

The Remnant of Israel Will Return

20 aIn that day bthe remnant of Israel and the survivors of the house of Jacob will no more clean on him who struck them, but dwill lean on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. 21A remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, eto the mighty God. 22 fFor though your people Israel be as the sand of the sea, gonly a remnant of them will return. hDestruction is decreed, overflowing with righteousness. 23For the Lord God of hosts will make a full end, as decreed, in the midst of all the earth.

24Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts: “O my people, iwho dwell in Zion, jbe not afraid of the Assyrians when they strike with the rod and lift up their staff against you as kthe Egyptians did. 25For lin a very little while my fury will come to an end, and my anger will be directed to their destruction.

wI will xdiscipline you in just measure,
and I will by no means leave you unpunished.
12 For thus says the Lord:
yYour hurt is incurable,
zand your wound is grievous.
13There is none to uphold your cause,
no medicine for your wound,
aano healing for you.
14 abAll your lovers have forgotten you;
they care nothing for you;
for I have dealt you the blow of acan enemy,
the punishment adof a merciless foe,
because your guilt is great,
aebecause your sins are flagrant.
15 afWhy do you cry out over your hurt?
agYour pain is incurable.
Because your guilt is great,
ahbecause your sins are flagrant,
I have done these things to you.
16 aiTherefore all who devour you shall be devoured,
and ajall your foes, every one of them, shall go into captivity;
akthose who plunder you shall be plundered,
aland all who prey on you I will make a prey.

Jeremiah 50:33-34

33Thus says the Lord of hosts: amThe people of Israel are oppressed, and the people of Judah with them.
