Isaiah 10:33-34

33 Behold, the Lord God of hosts
awill lop bthe boughs with terrifying power;
the great in height will be hewn down,
and the lofty will be brought low.
34He will cut down cthe thickets of the forest with an axe,
and dLebanon will fall by the Majestic One.

Isaiah 14:8

8 e, fThe cypresses rejoice at you,
gthe cedars of Lebanon, saying,
‘Since you were laid low,
no woodcutter comes up against us.’

Isaiah 37:24

24By your servants you have mocked the Lord,
and you have said, hWith my many chariots
I have gone up the heights of the mountains,
to the far recesses of Lebanon,
ito cut down its tallest cedars,
its choicest cypresses,
to come to its remotest height,
its most fruitful forest.

Ezekiel 31:3-12

3Behold, jAssyria was a kcedar in lLebanon,
with beautiful branches and mforest shade,
nand of towering height,
its top among the clouds.
Or  its top went through the thick boughs; also verses 10, 14

4The waters nourished it;
the deep made it grow tall,
making pits rivers flow
around the place of its planting,
sending forth its streams
to all the trees of the field.
5So qit towered high
above all the trees of the field;
its boughs grew large
and its branches long
from rabundant water in its shoots.
6 sAll the birds of the heavens
made their nests in its boughs;
under its branches all the beasts of the field
gave birth to their young,
and under its shadow
lived all great nations.
7It was tbeautiful in its greatness,
in the length of its branches;
ufor its roots went down
to abundant waters.
8 vThe cedars win the garden of God could not rival it,
nor the fir trees equal its boughs;
neither were the plane trees
like its branches;
no tree xin the garden of God
was its equal in beauty.
9I made it beautiful
in the mass of its branches,
and all the trees of yEden envied it,
that were in the garden of God.
10Therefore thus says the Lord God: Because zit
Syriac, Vulgate; Hebrew you
towered high and set its top among the clouds, and abits heart was proud of its height,
11I will give it into the hand of a mighty one of the nations. He shall surely deal with it as its wickedness deserves. I have cast it out. 12 acForeigners, adthe most ruthless of nations, have cut it down and left it. aeOn the mountains and in all the valleys its branches have fallen, and its boughs have been broken in all afthe ravines of the land, and agall the peoples of the earth have gone away from its shadow and left it.

Amos 2:5

5So ahI will send a fire upon Judah,
and it shall devour the strongholds of Jerusalem.”

Zechariah 11:1-2

The Flock Doomed to Slaughter

1 Open your doors, aiO Lebanon,
that the fire may devour your cedars!
2Wail, O cypress, for the cedar has fallen,
for the glorious trees are ruined!
Wail, ajoaks of Bashan,
for the thick forest has been felled!
