Isaiah 10:33-34

33 Behold, the Lord God of hosts
awill lop bthe boughs with terrifying power;
the great in height will be hewn down,
and the lofty will be brought low.
34He will cut down cthe thickets of the forest with an axe,
and dLebanon will fall by the Majestic One.

Ezekiel 15:2-4

2 eSon of man, how does fthe wood of the vine surpass any wood, the vine branch that is among the trees of the forest? 3Is wood taken from it to make anything? Do people take ga peg from it to hang any vessel on it? 4 hBehold, it is given to the fire for fuel. When the fire has consumed both ends of it, and the middle of it is charred, is it useful for anything?

Ezekiel 31:18

18 iWhom are you thus like in glory and in greatness jamong the trees of Eden? kYou shall be brought down with lthe trees of Eden to the world below. mYou shall lie among the uncircumcised, nwith those who are slain by the sword.

Daniel 4:14

Daniel 4:23

23And because the king saw ua watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven and saying, vChop down the tree and destroy it, but leave the stump of its roots in the earth, bound with a band of iron and bronze, in the tender grass of the field, and let him be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till wseven periods of time pass over him,’

Luke 13:7

7And he said to the vinedresser, ‘Look, for three years now I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I find none. xCut it down. Why should it use up the ground?’

Luke 13:9

9Then if it should bear fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.’”

Luke 23:29-31

29For behold, ythe days are coming when they will say, zBlessed are the barren and the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’ 30 aaThen they will begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us,’ and to the hills, ‘Cover us.’ 31For abif they do these things when acthe wood is green, what will happen adwhen it is dry?”
