Isaiah 10:5-7

Judgment on Arrogant Assyria

5 Woe to Assyria, athe rod of my anger;
the staff in their hands is my fury!
6Against a bgodless nation I send him,
and against the people of my wrath I command him,
to take cspoil and seize plunder,
and to dtread them down like the mire of the streets.
7But he edoes not so intend,
and his heart does not so think;
but it is in his heart to destroy,
and to cut off nations not a few;

Isaiah 37:26-27

26 f“‘Have you not heard
that I determined it long ago?
I planned from days of old
what now I bring to pass,
that you should make fortified cities

mI will break in pieces the doors of bronze
and cut through the bars of iron,
3 nI will give you the treasures of darkness
and the hoards in secret places,
that you may know that it is I, the Lord,
the God of Israel, owho call you by your name.
4For the sake of my servant Jacob,
and Israel my chosen,
pI call you by your name,
qI name you, though you do not know me.
5 rI am the Lord, and there is no other,
besides me there is no God;
sI equip you, though you do not know me,
6 tthat people may know, from the rising of the sun
and from the west, that there is none besides me;
I am the Lord, and there is no other.
