Isaiah 11:14

14 aBut they shall swoop down on the shoulder of the Philistines in the west,
and together they shall plunder bthe people of the east.
They shall put out their hand cagainst dEdom and eMoab,
and fthe Ammonites shall obey them.

Isaiah 25:10

10For the hand of the Lord will rest gon this mountain,
and hMoab shall be trampled down in his place,
as straw is trampled down in a dunghill.
The Hebrew words for  dunghill and for the Moabite town  Madmen (Jeremiah 48:2) sound alike

Jeremiah 9:26

26 jEgypt, Judah, Edom, the sons of Ammon, Moab, and kall who dwell in the desert who cut the corners of their hair, for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are luncircumcised in heart.”

Jeremiah 48

Judgment on Moab

1 mConcerning Moab.

Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel:

Woe to nNebo, for it is laid waste!
oKiriathaim is put to shame, it is taken;
the fortress is put to shame pand broken down;
2the renown of Moab is no more.
In qHeshbon they planned disaster against her:
Come, let us cut her off rfrom being a nation!’
You also, O sMadmen, shall be brought to silence;
the sword shall pursue you.
3 “A voice! A cry from tHoronaim,
Desolation and great destruction!’
4Moab is destroyed;
her little ones have made a cry.
5 uFor at the ascent of Luhith
they go up weeping;
Hebrew weeping goes up with weeping

for wat the descent of Horonaim
they have heard the distressed cry
Septuagint (compare Isaiah 15:5)  heard the cry
of destruction.
6Flee! Save yourselves!
You will be like ya juniper in the desert!
7For, zbecause you trusted in your works and your treasures,
you also shall be taken;
and aaChemosh abshall go into exile
with achis priests and his officials.
8 adThe destroyer shall come upon every city,
and no city shall escape;
the valley shall perish,
and aethe plain shall be destroyed,
as the Lord has spoken.
9 Give wings to Moab,
for she would fly away;
her cities shall become a desolation,
with no inhabitant in them.
10 afCursed is he who does agthe work of the Lord with slackness, and cursed is he who keeps back his sword from bloodshed.

11 Moab has been at ease from his youth
and has ahsettled on his dregs;
he has not been emptied from vessel to vessel,
nor has he gone into exile;
so his taste remains in him,
and his scent is not changed.
12Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I shall send to him pourers who will pour him, and empty his vessels and break his
Septuagint, Aquila; Hebrew their
jars in pieces.
13Then ajMoab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as akthe house of Israel was ashamed of alBethel, their confidence.

14 How do you say, ‘We are heroes
and mighty men of war’?
15The destroyer of amMoab and his cities has come up,
and the choicest of his young men have angone down to slaughter,
declares aothe King, apwhose name is the Lord of hosts.
16The calamity of Moab is near at hand,
and his affliction hastens swiftly.
17 aqGrieve for him, all you who are around him,
and all who know his name;
say, arHow the mighty scepter is broken,
the glorious staff.’
18 as“Come down from your glory,
and sit on the parched ground,
O inhabitant of atDibon!
For the destroyer of Moab has come up against you;
he has destroyed your strongholds.
19 auStand by the way avand watch,
O inhabitant of awAroer!
Ask him who flees and her who escapes;
say, ‘What has happened?’
20Moab is put to shame, for it is broken;
axwail and cry!
Tell it beside aythe Arnon,
that azMoab is laid waste.
21Judgment has come upon bathe tableland, upon Holon, and bbJahzah, and Mephaath, 22and bcDibon, and bdNebo, and Beth-diblathaim, 23and beKiriathaim, and Beth-gamul, and bfBeth-meon, 24and bgKerioth, and bhBozrah, and all the cities of the land of Moab, far and near. 25 biThe horn of Moab is cut off, and bjhis arm is broken, declares the Lord.

26 bk“Make him drunk, blbecause he magnified himself against the Lord, so that Moab shall bmwallow in his vomit, bnand he too shall be held in derision. 27 boWas not Israel a derision to you? bpWas he found among thieves, that whenever you spoke of him bqyou wagged your head?

28 brLeave the cities, and dwell in the rock,
O inhabitants of Moab!
Be bslike the dove that nests
in the sides of the mouth of a gorge.
29 btWe have heard of the pride of Moab
he is very proud
of his loftiness, his pride, and his arrogance,
and the haughtiness of his heart.
30I know his insolence, declares the Lord;
buhis boasts are false,
his deeds are false.
31 bvTherefore I wail for Moab;
I cry out for all Moab;
for the men of bwKir-hareseth I mourn.
32More than for bxJazer I weep for you,
byO vine of bzSibmah!
caYour branches passed over the sea,
reached to the Sea of cbJazer;
on your summer fruits and your grapes
the destroyer has fallen.
33 ccGladness and joy have been taken away
from the fruitful land of Moab;
I have made the wine cease from the winepresses;
no one treads them with shouts of joy;
the shouting is not the shout of joy.
34 cdFrom the outcry at Heshbon even to Elealeh, as far as Jahaz they utter their voice, from Zoar to ceHoronaim and Eglath-shelishiyah. For the waters of Nimrim also have become desolate. 35And I will bring to an end in Moab, declares the Lord, him who offers sacrifice in cfthe high place and makes offerings to his god. 36Therefore my heart moans for Moab like a flute, and my heart moans like a flute for the men of cgKir-hareseth. chTherefore the riches they gained have perished.

37 ciFor every head is shaved and every beard cut off. cjOn all the hands are gashes, and ckaround the waist is sackcloth. 38On all the housetops of Moab and in the squares there is nothing but lamentation, for I have broken Moab like cla vessel for which no one cares, declares the Lord. 39How it is broken! How they wail! cmHow Moab has turned his back in shame! So Moab cnhas become a derision and a horror to all that are around him.”

40 For thus says the Lord:
Behold, coone shall fly swiftly like an eagle
cpand spread his wings against Moab;
41 cqthe cities shall be taken
and the strongholds seized.
crThe heart of the warriors of Moab shall be in that day
like the heart of csa woman in her birth pains;
42Moab shall be ctdestroyed and be no longer a people,
because cuhe magnified himself against the Lord.
43 cvTerror, pit, and snare
are before you, O inhabitant of Moab!

declares the Lord.
44He who flees from the terror
shall fall into the pit,
and he who climbs out of the pit
shall be caught in the snare.
cwFor I will bring these things upon Moab,
the year of their punishment,

declares the Lord.
45 “In the shadow of Heshbon
fugitives stop without strength,
for fire came out from Heshbon,
flame from the house of Sihon;
it has destroyed cxthe forehead of Moab,
the crown of cythe sons of tumult.
46 czWoe to you, O Moab!
The people of daChemosh are undone,
for your sons have been taken captive,
and your daughters into captivity.
47 dbYet I will restore the fortunes of Moab
in the latter days, declares the Lord.”
Thus far is the judgment on Moab.

Ezekiel 25:8-11

Prophecy Against Moab and Seir

8Thus says the Lord God: Because dcMoab and ddSeir
Septuagint lacks  and Seir
said, ‘Behold, the dfhouse of Judah is like all the other nations,’
9therefore dgI will lay open the flank of Moab from the cities, from its cities on its frontier, the glory of the country, dhBeth-jeshimoth, diBaal-meon, and djKiriathaim. 10I will give it dkalong with the Ammonites dlto the people of the East as a possession, dmthat the Ammonites may be remembered no more among the nations, 11 dnand I will execute judgments upon Moab. doThen they will know that I am the Lord.

Amos 2:1-3

1Thus says the Lord:

dp“For three transgressions of dqMoab,
and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
Hebrew  I will not turn it back; also verses 4, 6

because dshe burned to lime
the bones of the king of Edom.
2So I will send a fire upon Moab,
and it shall devour the strongholds of dtKerioth,
and Moab shall die amid uproar,
amid shouting and the sound of the trumpet;
3 duI will cut off the ruler from its midst,
and will kill dvall its princes
Or officials
with him,”

says the Lord.

Zephaniah 2:8-11

8 “I have heard dxthe taunts of Moab
and dythe revilings of the Ammonites,
how they have taunted my people
and made boasts dzagainst their territory.
9Therefore, eaas I live,” declares the Lord of hosts,
the God of Israel,
Moab shall become eblike Sodom,
and the Ammonites eclike Gomorrah,
a land possessed by nettles and salt pits,
and a waste forever.
The remnant of my people shall plunder them,
and the survivors of my nation shall possess them.”
10This shall be their lot in return edfor their pride,
because they taunted and boasted
against the people of the Lord of hosts.
11The Lord will be awesome against them;
eefor he will famish all the gods of the earth,
and efto him shall bow down,
each in its place,
all egthe lands of the nations.
