24 mI set a snare for you and you were taken, O Babylon,

25The Lord has opened his armory
and brought out othe weapons of his wrath,
for the Lord God of hosts has a work to do
in the land of the Chaldeans.
26Come against her from every quarter;
open her granaries;
ppile her up like heaps of grain, and devote her to destruction;
let nothing be left of her.
27Kill all qher bulls;
let them go down to the slaughter.
Woe to them, for their day has come,
rthe time of their punishment.
28“A voice! They sflee and escape from the land of Babylon, tto declare in Zion the vengeance of the Lord our God, vengeance for uhis temple.
29 v“Summon archers against Babylon, all those who bend the bow. wEncamp around her; let no one escape. xRepay her according to her deeds; do to her according to all that she has done. For she has yproudly defied the Lord, the Holy One of Israel. 30 zTherefore her young men shall fall in her squares, and all her soldiers shall be destroyed on that day, declares the Lord.
31 “Behold, I am against you, O aaproud one,
declares the Lord God of hosts,
abfor your day has come,
the time when I will punish you.
32 acThe proud one shall stumble and fall,
with none to raise him up,
adand I will kindle a fire in his cities,
and it will devour all that is around him.
Ezekiel 39:17-20
17“As for you, aeson of man, thus says the Lord God: afSpeak to agthe birds of every sort and to ahall beasts of the field: ‘Assemble and come, gather from all around to aithe sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you, a great sacrificial feast on the mountains of Israel, and you shall eat flesh and drink blood. 18 ajYou shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth—of rams, of lambs, and of he-goats, of bulls, all of them akfat beasts of Bashan. 19And you shall eat fat till you are filled, and drink blood till you are drunk, at the sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you. 20And you shall be filled at my table with horses and charioteers, with mighty men and all kinds of warriors,’ declares the Lord God.
