Isaiah 13:19-20

19And Babylon, athe glory of kingdoms,
the splendor and pomp of the Chaldeans,
will be blike Sodom and Gomorrah
when God overthrew them.
20 cIt will never be inhabited
or lived in for all generations;
no dArab will pitch his tent there;
no eshepherds will make their flocks lie down there.

Isaiah 14:23-24

23“And I will make it a possession of the fhedgehog,
Possibly porcupine, or owl
and pools of water, and I will sweep it with the broom of destruction,” declares the Lord of hosts.

Jeremiah 50:13

oand hiss because of all her wounds.

Jeremiah 50:39-40

39 pTherefore wild beasts shall dwell with hyenas in Babylon, and ostriches shall dwell in her. She shall never again have people, nor be inhabited for all generations. 40 qAs when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring cities, declares the Lord, rso no man shall dwell there, and no son of man shall sojourn in her.

Jeremiah 50:45

45Therefore hear sthe plan that the Lord has made against Babylon, tand the purposes that he has formed against the land of the Chaldeans: uSurely the little ones of their flock shall be dragged away; surely their fold shall be appalled at their fate.

Jeremiah 51:11-12

11 vSharpen the arrows!
Take up the shields!
wThe Lord has stirred up the spirit of the kings of xthe Medes, because yhis purpose concerning Babylon is to destroy it, zfor that is the vengeance of the Lord, the vengeance for aahis temple.

12 ab“Set up a standard against the walls of Babylon;
acmake the watch strong;
set up watchmen;
prepare the ambushes;
adfor the Lord has both planned and done
what he spoke concerning the inhabitants of Babylon.

Jeremiah 51:43

43Her cities have become a horror,
aea land of drought and a desert,
afa land in which no one dwells,
and through which no son of man passes.

Jeremiah 51:62-64

62and say, ‘O Lord, you have said concerning this place that you will cut it off, so agthat nothing shall dwell in it, neither man nor beast, and it shall be ahdesolate forever.’ 63When you finish reading this book, ai, ajtie a stone to it akand cast it into the midst of the Euphrates, 64and say, alThus shall Babylon sink, to rise no more, because of the disaster that I am bringing upon her, amand they shall become exhausted.’”
