Isaiah 13:19-22

19And Babylon, athe glory of kingdoms,
the splendor and pomp of the Chaldeans,
will be blike Sodom and Gomorrah
when God overthrew them.
20 cIt will never be inhabited
or lived in for all generations;
no dArab will pitch his tent there;
no eshepherds will make their flocks lie down there.
21But fwild animals will lie down there,
and their houses will be full of howling creatures;
there gostriches
Or owls
will dwell,
and there wild goats will dance.
22Hyenas
Or foxes
will cry in its towers,
and jjackals in kthe pleasant palaces;
its time is close at hand
and its days will not be prolonged.

Isaiah 14:23

23“And I will make it a possession of the lhedgehog,
Possibly porcupine, or owl
and pools of water, and I will sweep it with the broom of destruction,” declares the Lord of hosts.

Jeremiah 25:9

9 nbehold, I will send for all the tribes of the north, declares the Lord, and for Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, omy servant, and I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants, and against all these surrounding nations. I will devote them to destruction, pand make them a horror, a hissing, and an everlasting desolation.

Jeremiah 25:12

12Then after qseventy years are completed, rI will punish the king of Babylon and that nation, sthe land of the Chaldeans, for their iniquity, declares the Lord, tmaking the land an everlasting waste.

Jeremiah 25:18

18 uJerusalem and the cities of Judah, its kings and officials, vto make them a desolation and a waste, a hissing and a curse, as at this day;

Jeremiah 50:12-13

12your mother shall be utterly shamed,
and she who bore you shall be disgraced.
Behold, she shall be the last of the nations,
wa wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.
13 xBecause of the wrath of the Lord she shall not be inhabited
but shall be an utter desolation;
yeveryone who passes by Babylon shall be appalled,
zand hiss because of all her wounds.

Jeremiah 50:23-26

23 aaHow the hammer of the whole earth
is cut down and broken!
abHow Babylon achas become
a horror among the nations!
24 adI set a snare for you and you were taken, O Babylon,
and aeyou did not know it;
you were found and caught,
because you opposed the Lord.
25The Lord has opened his armory
and brought out afthe weapons of his wrath,
for the Lord God of hosts has a work to do
in the land of the Chaldeans.
26Come against her from every quarter;
open her granaries;
agpile her up like heaps of grain, and devote her to destruction;
let nothing be left of her.

Jeremiah 50:38-40

38 ahA drought against her waters,
that they may be dried up!
aiFor it is a land of images,
and they are mad over idols.
39 ajTherefore wild beasts shall dwell with hyenas in Babylon, and ostriches shall dwell in her. She shall never again have people, nor be inhabited for all generations. 40 akAs when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring cities, declares the Lord, also no man shall dwell there, and no son of man shall sojourn in her.

Jeremiah 51:25-26

25 Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain,

declares the Lord,
which destroys the whole earth;
I will stretch out my hand against you,
and roll you down from the crags,
amand make you a burnt mountain.
26No anstone shall be taken from you for a corner
and no stone for a foundation,
but you shall be aoa perpetual waste,
declares the Lord.

Jeremiah 51:29

29 apThe land trembles and writhes in pain,
aqfor the Lord’s purposes against Babylon stand,
to make the land of Babylon a desolation,
without inhabitant.
