Isaiah 13:20-22

20 aIt will never be inhabited
or lived in for all generations;
no bArab will pitch his tent there;
no cshepherds will make their flocks lie down there.
21But dwild animals will lie down there,
and their houses will be full of howling creatures;
there eostriches
Or owls
will dwell,
and there wild goats will dance.
22Hyenas
Or foxes
will cry in its towers,
and hjackals in ithe pleasant palaces;
its time is close at hand
and its days will not be prolonged.

Isaiah 14:22

22“I will rise up against them,” declares the Lord of hosts, “and will cut off from Babylon name and jremnant, kdescendants and posterity,” declares the Lord.

Jeremiah 25:12

12Then after lseventy years are completed, mI will punish the king of Babylon and that nation, nthe land of the Chaldeans, for their iniquity, declares the Lord, omaking the land an everlasting waste.

Jeremiah 50:35-40

35 “A sword against the Chaldeans, declares the Lord,
and against the inhabitants of Babylon,
and against pher officials and her qwise men!
36A sword against the diviners,
that they may become fools!
A sword against her rwarriors,
that they may be destroyed!
37A sword against her horses and against her chariots,
and against all sthe foreign troops in her midst,
that tthey may become women!
uA sword against all her treasures,
that they may be plundered!
38 vA drought against her waters,
that they may be dried up!
wFor it is a land of images,
and they are mad over idols.
39 xTherefore wild beasts shall dwell with hyenas in Babylon, and ostriches shall dwell in her. She shall never again have people, nor be inhabited for all generations. 40 yAs when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring cities, declares the Lord, zso no man shall dwell there, and no son of man shall sojourn in her.

Jeremiah 51:25-26

25 Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain,

declares the Lord,
which destroys the whole earth;
I will stretch out my hand against you,
and roll you down from the crags,
aaand make you a burnt mountain.
26No abstone shall be taken from you for a corner
and no stone for a foundation,
but you shall be aca perpetual waste,
declares the Lord.

Jeremiah 51:43

43Her cities have become a horror,
ada land of drought and a desert,
aea land in which no one dwells,
and through which no son of man passes.

Jeremiah 51:62-64

62and say, ‘O Lord, you have said concerning this place that you will cut it off, so afthat nothing shall dwell in it, neither man nor beast, and it shall be agdesolate forever.’ 63When you finish reading this book, ah, aitie a stone to it ajand cast it into the midst of the Euphrates, 64and say, akThus shall Babylon sink, to rise no more, because of the disaster that I am bringing upon her, aland they shall become exhausted.’”

21Then ama mighty angel antook up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying,

So will Babylon aothe great city be thrown down with violence,
and will be found no more;
22and apthe sound of harpists and musicians, of flute players and trumpeters,
will be heard in you no more,
and a craftsman of any craft
will be found in you no more,
and aqthe sound of the mill
will be heard in you no more,
23and the light of a lamp
will shine in you no more,
and arthe voice of bridegroom and bride
will be heard in you no more,
for asyour merchants were the great ones of the earth,
and all nations were deceived atby your sorcery.
