Isaiah 13:20-22

20 aIt will never be inhabited
or lived in for all generations;
no bArab will pitch his tent there;
no cshepherds will make their flocks lie down there.
21But dwild animals will lie down there,
and their houses will be full of howling creatures;
there eostriches
Or owls
will dwell,
and there wild goats will dance.
22Hyenas
Or foxes
will cry in its towers,
and hjackals in ithe pleasant palaces;
its time is close at hand
and its days will not be prolonged.

Isaiah 14:23

23“And I will make it a possession of the jhedgehog,
Possibly porcupine, or owl
and pools of water, and I will sweep it with the broom of destruction,” declares the Lord of hosts.

Isaiah 34:9-17

9 lAnd the streams of Edom
Hebrew her streams
shall be turned into pitch,
and her soil into sulfur;
her land shall become burning pitch.
10Night and day nit shall not be quenched;
oits smoke shall go up forever.
pFrom generation to generation it shall lie waste;
none shall pass through it forever and ever.
11 qBut the hawk and the porcupine
The identity of the animals rendered  hawk and  porcupine is uncertain
shall possess it,
the owl and the raven shall dwell in it.
sHe shall stretch the line of tconfusion
Hebrew formlessness
over it,
and the plumb line of emptiness.
12Its nobles—there is no one there to call it a kingdom,
and all its princes shall be nothing.
13 vThorns shall grow over its strongholds,
nettles and thistles in its fortresses.
It shall be the haunt of wjackals,
an abode for ostriches.
Or owls

14 yAnd wild animals shall meet with hyenas;
the wild goat shall cry to his fellow;
indeed, there the night bird
Identity uncertain
settles
and finds for herself a resting place.
15 There the owl nests and lays
and hatches and gathers her young in her shadow;
indeed, there aathe hawks are gathered,
each one with her mate.
16Seek and read from the book of the Lord:
Not one of these shall be missing;
none shall be without her mate.
For the mouth of the Lord has commanded,
and his Spirit has gathered them.
17 abHe has cast the lot for them;
his hand has portioned it out to them with the line;
they shall possess it forever;
from generation to generation they shall dwell in it.

Jeremiah 9:11

11 acI will make Jerusalem a heap of ruins,
ada lair of jackals,
aeand I will make the cities of Judah a desolation,
without inhabitant.”

Jeremiah 10:22

22 A voice, a rumor! Behold, it comes!—
afa great commotion out of the north country
to make agthe cities of Judah a desolation,
aha lair of jackals.

Jeremiah 49:17-18

17 aiEdom shall become a horror. ajEveryone who passes by it will be horrified akand will hiss because of all its disasters. 18 alAs when Sodom and Gomorrah and their amneighboring cities were overthrown, says the Lord, anno man shall dwell there, aono man shall sojourn in her.

Jeremiah 50:39-40

39 apTherefore wild beasts shall dwell with hyenas in Babylon, and ostriches shall dwell in her. She shall never again have people, nor be inhabited for all generations. 40 aqAs when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring cities, declares the Lord, arso no man shall dwell there, and no son of man shall sojourn in her.

Jeremiah 51:37

37and Babylon shall become asa heap of ruins,
atthe haunt of jackals,
aua horror avand a hissing,
without inhabitant.
