Isaiah 13:4-5

4 The sound aof a tumult is on the mountains
as of a great multitude!
The sound of an uproar of kingdoms,
of nations gathering together!
bThe Lord of hosts is mustering
a host for battle.
5 cThey come from a distant land,
from the end of the heavens,
the Lord and the weapons of his indignation,
to destroy the whole land.

Isaiah 13:17-18

17 Behold, eI am stirring up the Medes against them,
who have no regard for silver
and do not delight in gold.
18 fTheir bows will slaughter
Hebrew dash in pieces
the young men;
they will have no mercy on the fruit of the womb;
their eyes will not pity children.

Isaiah 44:28

28who says of hCyrus, ‘He is imy shepherd,
and he shall fulfill all my purpose’;
saying of Jerusalem, ‘She shall be built,’
jand of the temple, ‘Your foundation shall be laid.’”

Isaiah 46:11

11 kcalling a bird of prey from the east,
the man of my counsel from a far country.
lI have spoken, and I will bring it to pass;
I have purposed, and I will do it.

Jeremiah 50:21-29

21 “Go up against the land of Merathaim,
 Merathaim means double rebellion

and against the inhabitants of Pekod.
 Pekod means punishment

Kill, oand devote them to destruction,
That is, set apart ( devote) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction)


declares the Lord,
and do all that I have commanded you.
22 qThe noise of battle is in the land,
and great destruction!
23 rHow the hammer of the whole earth
is cut down and broken!
sHow Babylon thas become
a horror among the nations!
24 uI set a snare for you and you were taken, O Babylon,
and vyou did not know it;
you were found and caught,
because you opposed the Lord.
25The Lord has opened his armory
and brought out wthe weapons of his wrath,
for the Lord God of hosts has a work to do
in the land of the Chaldeans.
26Come against her from every quarter;
open her granaries;
xpile her up like heaps of grain, and devote her to destruction;
let nothing be left of her.
27Kill all yher bulls;
let them go down to the slaughter.
Woe to them, for their day has come,
zthe time of their punishment.
28“A voice! They aaflee and escape from the land of Babylon, abto declare in Zion the vengeance of the Lord our God, vengeance for achis temple.

29 adSummon archers against Babylon, all those who bend the bow. aeEncamp around her; let no one escape. afRepay her according to her deeds; do to her according to all that she has done. For she has agproudly defied the Lord, the Holy One of Israel.

Jeremiah 51:20-24

20 “You are my hammer and weapon of war:
with you I ahbreak nations in pieces;
with you I destroy kingdoms;
21with you I break in pieces the horse and his rider;
with you I break in pieces the chariot and the charioteer;
22with you I break in pieces man and woman;
with you I break in pieces aithe old man and the youth;
with you I break in pieces ajthe young man and the young woman;
23with you I break in pieces the shepherd and his flock;
with you I break in pieces the farmer and his team;
with you I break in pieces akgovernors and commanders.
24 al“I will repay Babylon and all the inhabitants of Chaldea before your very eyes for all the evil that they have done in Zion, declares the Lord.
