Isaiah 13:7-9

7 Therefore all hands will be feeble,
and every human heart ^awill melt.
8 They will be dismayed:
^bpangs and agony will seize them;
^cthey will be in anguish like a woman in labor.
They will look aghast at one another;
their faces will be aflame.
9 Behold, ^dthe day of the Lord comes,
cruel, with wrath and fierce anger,
to make the land a desolation
and ^eto destroy its sinners from it.

Jeremiah 48:42-44

42 Moab shall be ^fdestroyed and be no longer a people,
because ^ghe magnified himself against the Lord.
43 ^hTerror, pit, and snare
are before you, O inhabitant of Moab!

declares the Lord.
44 He who flees from the terror
shall fall into the pit,
and he who climbs out of the pit
shall be caught in the snare.
