Isaiah 14:24-27

An Oracle Concerning Assyria

24 The Lord of hosts has sworn:
aAs I have planned,
so shall it be,
and as I have purposed,
so shall it stand,
25that bI will break the Assyrian in my land,
and on my mountains trample him underfoot;
and chis yoke shall depart from them,
and dhis burden from their shoulder.”
26 This is the purpose that is purposed
concerning the whole earth,
and this is ethe hand that is stretched out
over all the nations.
27 fFor the Lord of hosts has purposed,
and who will annul it?
gHis hand is stretched out,
and who will turn it back?

Isaiah 46:10-11

10 hdeclaring the end from the beginning
and from ancient times things not yet done,
saying, i‘My counsel shall stand,
and I will accomplish all my purpose,’
11 jcalling a bird of prey from the east,
the man of my counsel from a far country.
kI have spoken, and I will bring it to pass;
I have purposed, and I will do it.

Jeremiah 4:28

28 lFor this the earth shall mourn,
mand the heavens above be dark;
for I have spoken; I have purposed;
nI have not relented, nor will I turn back.”

Jeremiah 51:29

29 oThe land trembles and writhes in pain,
pfor the Lord’s purposes against Babylon stand,
to make the land of Babylon a desolation,
without inhabitant.
