The Year of the Lord’s Favor

1 bThe Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has canointed me
to bring good news to the poor;

he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and ethe opening of the prison to those who are bound;
Or  the opening [of the eyes] to those who are blind; Septuagint  and recovery of sight to the blind

2 gto proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor,
hand the day of vengeance of our God;
to comfort all who mourn;
3to grant to those who mourn in Zion
ito give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
jthe oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;
kthat they may be called oaks of righteousness,
the planting of the Lord, lthat he may be glorified.
Or  that he may display his beauty

Zechariah 11:11

11So it was annulled on that day, and the sheep traders, who were watching me, knew that it was the word of the Lord.

Zechariah 13:8-9

8In the whole land, declares the Lord,
two thirds shall be cut off and perish,
nand one third shall be left alive.
9And oI will put this third into the fire,
and refine them as one refines silver,
and test them as gold is tested.
pThey will call upon my name,
and qI will answer them.
rI will say, ‘They are my people’;
and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”

Leprosy was a term for several skin diseases; see Leviticus 13
