Isaiah 15:2-5

2He has gone up to the temple,
Hebrew  the house
and to bDibon,
to the high places
Or temple, even Dibon to the high places
to weep;
over dNebo and over eMedeba
Moab fwails.
On every head is gbaldness;
every beard is shorn;
3in the streets they wear sackcloth;
on the housetops and in the squares
everyone wails and melts in tears.
4 hHeshbon and iElealeh cry out;
their voice is heard as far as jJahaz;
therefore the armed men of Moab cry aloud;
his soul trembles.
5My heart cries out for Moab;
her fugitives flee to Zoar,
to kEglath-shelishiyah.
For at the lascent of Luhith
they go up weeping;
on the road to mHoronaim
they raise a cry of destruction;

Isaiah 15:8

8For a cry has gone
around the land of Moab;
her wailing reaches to Eglaim;
her wailing reaches to Beer-elim.

Isaiah 22:12

12 In that day nthe Lord God of hosts
called for weeping and mourning,
for obaldness and pwearing sackcloth;

Jeremiah 4:31

31For I heard qa cry as of a woman in labor,
anguish as of one giving birth to her first child,
the cry of the daughter of Zion gasping for breath,
rstretching out her hands,
Woe is me! I am fainting before murderers.”

Jeremiah 9:10

10 “I will take up weeping and wailing for the mountains,
and a lamentation for sthe pastures of the wilderness,
tbecause they are laid waste so that no one passes through,
and the lowing of cattle is not heard;
uboth the birds of the air and the beasts
have fled and are gone.

Jeremiah 9:18-20

18let them make haste vand raise a wailing over us,
wthat our eyes may run down with tears
and our eyelids flow with water.
19For a sound of wailing is heard from Zion:
xHow we are ruined!
We are utterly shamed,
because we have left the land,
because they have cast down our dwellings.’”
20 Hear, O women, the word of the Lord,
and let your ear receive the word of his mouth;
teach to your daughters a lament,
and each to her neighbor a dirge.

Joel 1:8

8 Lament like a virgin
Or young woman
zwearing sackcloth
for the bridegroom of her youth.

Joel 1:11

11 aaBe ashamed,
The Hebrew words for  dry up and  be ashamed in verses 10–12, 17 sound alike
O tillers of the soil;
wail, O vinedressers,
for the wheat and the barley,
acbecause the harvest of the field has perished.

Joel 1:14

14 adConsecrate a fast;
aecall a solemn assembly.
Gather afthe elders
and agall the inhabitants of the land
to the house of the Lord your God,
and cry out to the Lord.

Amos 8:10

10 ahI will turn your feasts into mourning
and all your songs into lamentation;
aiI will bring sackcloth on every waist
ajand baldness on every head;
akI will make it like the mourning for an only son
and the end of it like a bitter day.
