Isaiah 2:12-22

12 aFor the Lord of hosts has a day
against all that is proud and lofty,
against all that is lifted up—and it shall be brought low;
13against all the bcedars of Lebanon,
lofty and lifted up;
and against all the coaks of Bashan;
14against all dthe lofty mountains,
and against all the uplifted hills;
15against every high tower,
and against every fortified wall;
16against all ethe ships of Tarshish,
and against all the beautiful craft.
17 fAnd the haughtiness of man shall be humbled,
and the lofty pride of men shall be brought low,
and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.
18 gAnd the idols shall utterly pass away.
19 hAnd people shall enter the caves of the rocks
and the holes of the ground,
Hebrew dust

from before the terror of the Lord,
and from the splendor of his majesty,
jwhen he rises to terrify the earth.
20 In that day kmankind will cast away
their idols of silver and their idols of gold,
which they made for themselves to worship,
to the moles and to the lbats,
21 mto enter the caverns of the rocks
and the clefts of the cliffs,
from before the terror of the Lord,
and from the splendor of his majesty,
nwhen he rises to terrify the earth.
22 oStop regarding man
pin whose nostrils is breath,
for of what account is he?

Let Justice Roll Down

18 Woe to you who desire axthe day of the Lord!
Why would you have the day of the Lord?
ayIt is darkness, and not light,
19 azas if a man fled from a lion,
and a bear met him,
or went into the house and leaned his hand against the wall,
and a serpent bit him.
20 baIs not the day of the Lord darkness, and not light,
and gloom with no brightness in it?
