12 ^aFor the Lord of hosts has a day
against all that is proud and lofty,
against all that is lifted up—and it shall be brought low;
13 against all the ^bcedars of Lebanon,
lofty and lifted up;
and against all the ^coaks of Bashan;
14 against all ^dthe lofty mountains,
and against all the uplifted hills;
15 against every high tower,
and against every fortified wall;
16 against all ^ethe ships of Tarshish,
and against all the beautiful craft.
17 ^fAnd the haughtiness of man shall be humbled,
and the lofty pride of men shall be brought low,
and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.
18 ^gAnd the idols shall utterly pass away.
19 ^hAnd people shall enter the caves of the rocks
and the holes of the ground, ^{▼▼Hebrew dust}
from before the terror of the Lord,
and from the splendor of his majesty,
^jwhen he rises to terrify the earth.
20 In that day ^kmankind will cast away
their idols of silver and their idols of gold,
which they made for themselves to worship,
to the moles and to the ^lbats,
21 ^mto enter the caverns of the rocks
and the clefts of the cliffs,
from before the terror of the Lord,
and from the splendor of his majesty,
ⁿwhen he rises to terrify the earth.
22 ^oStop regarding man
^pin whose nostrils is breath,
for of what account is he?

Ezekiel 7:6-12

6 ^qAn end has come; the end has come; it has awakened against you. Behold, it comes. 7 ^rYour doom ^{▼▼The meaning of the Hebrew word is uncertain; also verse 10} has come to you, O inhabitant of the land. ^tThe time has come; the day is near, a day of tumult, and not ^uof joyful shouting on the mountains. 8 Now I will soon ^vpour out my wrath upon you, and ^wspend my anger against you, ^xand judge you according to your ways, and I will punish you for all your abominations. 9 ^yAnd my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity. I will punish you according to your ways, while your abominations are in your midst. ^zThen you will know that I am the Lord, who strikes.
