Isaiah 2:17

17 aAnd the haughtiness of man shall be humbled,
and the lofty pride of men shall be brought low,
and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.

Isaiah 5:15

Isaiah 14:12-16

f‘I will ascend to heaven;
above the stars of God

14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.’
15 iBut you are brought down to Sheol,
to the far reaches of the pit.

‘Is this jthe man who made the earth tremble,
who shook kingdoms,

Jeremiah 50:29-32

29 kSummon archers against Babylon, all those who bend the bow. lEncamp around her; let no one escape. mRepay her according to her deeds; do to her according to all that she has done. For she has nproudly defied the Lord, the Holy One of Israel. 30 oTherefore her young men shall fall in her squares, and all her soldiers shall be destroyed on that day, declares the Lord.

31 Behold, I am against you, O pproud one,
declares the Lord God of hosts,
qfor your day has come,
the time when I will punish you.
32 rThe proud one shall stumble and fall,
with none to raise him up,
sand I will kindle a fire in his cities,
and it will devour all that is around him.

Daniel 5:22-23

22And you his son,
Or successor
uBelshazzar, vhave not humbled your heart, though you knew all this,
23but you have lifted up yourself against wthe Lord of heaven. And xthe vessels of his house have been brought in before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines have drunk wine from them. yAnd you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or know, zbut the God in whose hand is your breath, and aawhose are all your ways, abyou have not honored.
