Isaiah 20:5

5 aThen they shall be dismayed and ashamed because of Cush their hope and of Egypt their boast.

Isaiah 30:1-7

Do Not Go Down to Egypt

1 Ah, bstubborn children,” declares the Lord,
c“who carry out a plan, but not mine,
and who make dan alliance,
Hebrew  who weave a web
but not of my Spirit,
that they may add sin to sin;
2 fwho set out to go down to Egypt,
without asking for my direction,
to take refuge in the protection of Pharaoh
and to seek shelter in the shadow of Egypt!
3 gTherefore shall the protection of Pharaoh turn to your shame,
and the shelter in the shadow of Egypt to your humiliation.
4For though his officials are at hZoan
and ihis envoys reach jHanes,
5everyone comes to shame
through ka people that cannot profit them,
that brings neither help nor profit,
but shame and disgrace.”
6An loracle on mthe beasts of nthe Negeb.

Through a land of trouble and anguish,
from where come the lioness and the lion,
the adder and the oflying fiery serpent,
they carry their riches on the backs of donkeys,
and their treasures on the humps of camels,
to a people that cannot profit them.
7Egypt’s phelp is worthless and empty;
therefore I have called her
qRahab who sits still.”

Isaiah 31:1-3

Woe to Those Who Go Down to Egypt

1 Woe to rthose who go down to Egypt for help
and rely on horses,
who strust in chariots because they are many
and in horsemen because they are very strong,
but tdo not look to the Holy One of Israel
or consult the Lord!
2And uyet he is wise and brings disaster;
vhe does not call back his words,
but wwill arise against the house of the evildoers
and against the helpers of xthose who work iniquity.
3The Egyptians are man, and not God,
and their horses yare flesh, and not spirit.
When the Lord stretches out his hand,
the helper will stumble, and he who is helped will fall,
and they will all perish together.

Jeremiah 37:7

7Thus says the Lord, God of Israel: Thus shall you say to the king of Judah who zsent you to me to inquire of me, ‘Behold, aaPharaoh’s army that came to help you is about to abreturn to Egypt, to its own land.

Lamentations 4:17

17 acOur eyes failed, ever watching
advainly for help;
in our watching we watched
for aea nation which could not save.

Lamentations 5:6

6We have given the hand to afEgypt, and to agAssyria,
to get bread enough.

Ezekiel 29:7

7 ahwhen they grasped you with the hand, you broke and tore all their shoulders; and when they leaned on you, you broke and made all their loins to shake.
