Isaiah 24:6-11

6Therefore aa curse devours the earth,
and its inhabitants bsuffer for their guilt;
therefore the inhabitants of the earth are scorched,
and few men are left.
7 cThe wine mourns,
the vine languishes,
all the merry-hearted sigh.
8 dThe mirth of the tambourines is stilled,
the noise of the jubilant has ceased,
the mirth of the lyre is stilled.
9No more do they drink wine ewith singing;
strong drink is bitter to those who drink it.
10 fThe wasted city is broken down;
gevery house is shut up so that none can enter.
11 hThere is an outcry in the streets for lack of wine;
iall joy has grown dark;
the gladness of the earth is banished.

Daniel 6:18

18Then the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting; jno diversions were brought to him, and ksleep fled from him.

1 Corinthians 9:27

27But I discipline my body and lkeep it under control,
Greek  I pummel my body and make it a slave
lest after preaching to others nI myself should be odisqualified.
