Isaiah 24:7-11

7 aThe wine mourns,
the vine languishes,
all the merry-hearted sigh.
8 bThe mirth of the tambourines is stilled,
the noise of the jubilant has ceased,
the mirth of the lyre is stilled.
9No more do they drink wine cwith singing;
strong drink is bitter to those who drink it.
10 dThe wasted city is broken down;
eevery house is shut up so that none can enter.
11 fThere is an outcry in the streets for lack of wine;
gall joy has grown dark;
the gladness of the earth is banished.

Jeremiah 7:34

34 hAnd I will silence in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, ifor the land shall become a waste.

Jeremiah 16:9

The Lord Will Punish Israel

1 Rejoice not, O Israel!
Exult not like the peoples;
pfor you have played the whore, forsaking your God.
qYou have loved a prostitute’s wages
on all threshing floors.
2 rThreshing floor and wine vat shall not feed them,
and sthe new wine shall fail them.
3They shall not remain in tthe land of the Lord,
but uEphraim shall return to Egypt,
and vthey shall eat unclean food in Assyria.
4 wThey shall not pour drink offerings of wine to the Lord,
xand their sacrifices shall not please him.
It shall be like ymournersbread to them;
all who eat of it shall be defiled;
for their bread shall be for their hunger only;
zit shall not come to the house of the Lord.
5 aaWhat will you do on the day of the appointed festival,
and on the day of the feast of the Lord?

Nahum 1:10

10For they are ablike entangled thorns,
like drunkards as they drink;
acthey are consumed like stubble fully dried.
