Isaiah 24:7-12

7 aThe wine mourns,
the vine languishes,
all the merry-hearted sigh.
8 bThe mirth of the tambourines is stilled,
the noise of the jubilant has ceased,
the mirth of the lyre is stilled.
9No more do they drink wine cwith singing;
strong drink is bitter to those who drink it.
10 dThe wasted city is broken down;
eevery house is shut up so that none can enter.
11 fThere is an outcry in the streets for lack of wine;
gall joy has grown dark;
the gladness of the earth is banished.
12Desolation is left in the city;
the gates are battered into ruins.

Jeremiah 7:34

34 hAnd I will silence in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, ifor the land shall become a waste.

Jeremiah 16:9

9For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: jBehold, I will silence in this place, before your eyes and in your days, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.

Jeremiah 33:10-11

10Thus says the Lord: In this place kof which you say, ‘It is a waste without man or beast,’ in the cities of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem that are desolate, without man or inhabitant or beast, there shall be heard again 11 lthe voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voices of those who sing, as they bring mthank offerings to the house of the Lord:

n“‘Give thanks to the Lord of hosts,
for the Lord is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever!’
oFor I will restore the fortunes of the land as at first, says the Lord.

Ezekiel 26:13

13 pAnd I will stop the music of your songs, and qthe sound of your lyres shall be heard no more.

Hosea 2:11

11 rAnd I will put an end to all her mirth,
her feasts, her snew moons, her tSabbaths,
and all her uappointed feasts.

Revelation of John 18:22-23

22and vthe sound of harpists and musicians, of flute players and trumpeters,
will be heard in you no more,
and a craftsman of any craft
will be found in you no more,
and wthe sound of the mill
will be heard in you no more,
23and the light of a lamp
will shine in you no more,
and xthe voice of bridegroom and bride
will be heard in you no more,
for yyour merchants were the great ones of the earth,
and all nations were deceived zby your sorcery.
