Isaiah 28:9-13

9 ^a“To whom will he teach knowledge,
and to whom will he explain the message?
Those who are weaned from the milk,
those taken from the breast?
10 For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept,
line upon line, line upon line,
here a little, there a little.”
11 ^bFor by people of strange lips
and with a foreign tongue
the Lord will speak to this people,
12 to whom he has said,
^c“This is rest;
give rest to the weary;
and this is repose”;
yet they would not hear.
13 And the word of the Lord will be to them
precept upon precept, precept upon precept,
line upon line, line upon line,
here a little, there a little,
^dthat they may go, and fall backward,
and be broken, and snared, and taken.

1 Corinthians 9:19-23

19 For ^ethough I am free from all, ^fI have made myself a servant to all, that I might ^gwin more of them. 20 ^hTo the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. 21 To ⁱthose outside the law I became ^jas one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but ^kunder the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. 22 ^lTo the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. ^mI have become all things to all people, that ⁿby all means I might save some. 23 I do it all for the sake of the gospel, ^othat I may share with them in its blessings.
