Isaiah 29:10-12

10 aFor the Lord has poured out upon you
a spirit of deep sleep,
and has closed your eyes (the prophets),
and covered your heads (the seers).
11And the vision of all this has become to you like the words of a book that is bsealed. When men give it to one who can read, saying, “Read this,” he says, “I cannot, for it is sealed.” 12And when they give the book to one who cannot read, saying, “Read this,” he says, “I cannot read.”

Isaiah 42:19-20

19Who is blind but my servant,
or deaf as my messenger whom I send?
Who is blind as my dedicated one,
Or  as the one at peace with me

or blind as the servant of the Lord?
20 dHe sees many things, but does not observe them;
ehis ears are open, but he does not hear.

Hosea 4:1

and hno knowledge of God in the land;

Hosea 4:6

jbecause you have rejected knowledge,

And since you have forgotten the law of your God,
lI also will forget your children.

Matthew 23:16-26

16Woe to myou, nblind guides, who say, oIf anyone swears by the temple, it is nothing, but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.’ 17You blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or pthe temple that has made the gold sacred? 18And you say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it is nothing, but if anyone swears by qthe gift that is on the altar, he is bound by his oath.’ 19You blind men! For which is greater, the gift or rthe altar that makes the gift sacred? 20So whoever swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. 21And whoever swears by the temple swears by it and by shim who dwells in it. 22And whoever swears by theaven swears by uthe throne of God and by vhim who sits upon it.

23 wWoe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For xyou tithe mint and dill and ycumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: zjustice and mercy and faithfulness. aaThese you ought to have done, without neglecting the others. 24You blind guides, straining out a gnat and swallowing aba camel!

25 acWoe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For adyou clean the outside of aethe cup and the plate, but inside they are full of afgreed and self-indulgence. 26You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of agthe cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean.

Romans 1:22
