Isaiah 3:1-7

Judgment on Judah and Jerusalem

1 For behold, the aLord God of hosts
is taking away from Jerusalem and from Judah
support and supply,
Hebrew staff

all csupport of bread,
and all support of water;
2 dthe mighty man and the soldier,
the judge and the prophet,
the diviner and the elder,
3the captain of fifty
and the man of rank,
the counselor and the skillful magician
and the expert in charms.
4 eAnd I will make boys their princes,
and infants
Or caprice
shall rule over them.
5 gAnd the people will oppress one another,
every one his fellow
and every one his neighbor;
the youth will be insolent to the elder,
and the despised to the honorable.
6 For ha man will take hold of his brother
in the house of his father, saying:
“You have a cloak;
you shall be our leader,
and this heap of ruins
shall be under your rule”;
7in that day he will speak out, saying:
“I will not be a ihealer;
Hebrew binder of wounds

in my house there is neither bread nor cloak;
you shall not make me
leader of the people.”

Lamentations 4:20

20 kThe breath of our nostrils, lthe Lord’s anointed,
was captured min their pits,
of whom we said, n“Under his shadow
we shall live among the nations.”

Hosea 3:4

4For the children of Israel oshall dwell many days pwithout king or prince, qwithout sacrifice or rpillar, without sephod or thousehold gods.

Hosea 10:3

3 For now they will say:
u“We have no king,
for we do not fear the Lord;
and a kingwhat could he do for us?”

Hosea 13:10-11

10 vWhere now is your king, to save you in all your cities?
Where are all your rulers
those of whom wyou said,
Give me a king and princes”?
11 xI gave you a king in my anger,
and yI took him away in my wrath.
