16 The Lord said:
^aBecause ^bthe daughters of Zion are haughty
and walk with outstretched necks,
glancing wantonly with their eyes,
mincing along as they go,
^ctinkling with their feet,
17 therefore the Lord ^dwill strike with a scab
the heads of ^ethe daughters of Zion,
and the Lord will lay bare their secret parts.
18 In that day the Lord will take away ^fthe finery of the anklets, the ^gheadbands, and the ^hcrescents; 19 the pendants, the bracelets, and the scarves; 20 the ⁱheaddresses, the armlets, the sashes, the perfume boxes, and the amulets; 21 the signet rings and ^jnose rings; 22 the ^kfestal robes, the mantles, the cloaks, and the handbags; 23 the mirrors, the linen garments, the turbans, and the veils.

24 Instead of ^lperfume there will be rottenness;
and instead of a ^mbelt, a rope;
and instead of ⁿwell-set hair, ^obaldness;
and instead of a rich robe, a ^pskirt of sackcloth;
and ^qbranding instead of beauty.

Isaiah 32:9-11

Complacent Women Warned of Disaster

9 ^rRise up, you women ^swho are at ease, hear my voice;
you complacent daughters, give ear to my speech.
10 In little more than a year
you will shudder, you complacent women;
for the grape harvest fails,
the fruit harvest will not come.
11 Tremble, you women ^twho are at ease,
shudder, you complacent ones;
^ustrip, and make yourselves bare,
^vand tie sackcloth around your waist.

Acts 9:39-40

39 So Peter rose and went with them. And when he arrived, they took him to ^wthe upper room. All the widows stood beside him weeping and showing tunics ^{▼▼Greek chiton, a long garment worn under the cloak next to the skin} and other garments that Dorcas made while she was with them. 40 But Peter ^yput them all outside, and ^zknelt down and prayed; and turning to the body ^aahe said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up.

2 Thessalonians 3:10-12
