Woe to Those Who Go Down to Egypt

1 Woe to ^athose who go down to Egypt for help
and rely on horses,
who ^btrust in chariots because they are many
and in horsemen because they are very strong,
but ^cdo not look to the Holy One of Israel
or consult the Lord!

Isaiah 36:6

6 ^dBehold, you are trusting in Egypt, that broken reed of a staff, which will pierce the hand of any man who leans on it. Such is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust in him.
