Isaiah 33:1

O Lord, Be Gracious to Us

1 aAh, you destroyer,
who yourself have not been destroyed,
you traitor,
whom none has betrayed!
When you have ceased to destroy,
you will be destroyed;
and when you have finished betraying,
they will betray you.

Matthew 10:21-25

21 bBrother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death, 22 cand you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. dBut the one who endures to the end will be saved. 23When they epersecute you in one town, fflee to the next, for truly, I say to you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel gbefore the Son of Man comes.

24 h“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant
Greek bondservant; also verse 25
above his master.
25It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. jIf they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign
Greek lacks  will they malign
those of his household.

John 15:20

20Remember the word that I said to you: l‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, mthey will also persecute you. nIf they kept my word, they will also keep yours.

John 16:1-4

1“I have said all these things to you to keep you from falling away. 2 oThey will put you out of the synagogues. Indeed, pthe hour is coming when qwhoever kills you will think he is offering service to God. 3And they will do these things rbecause they have not known the Father, nor me. 4But sI have said these things to you, that when ttheir hour comes you may remember that I told them to you.

The Work of the Holy Spirit

“I did not say these things to you from the beginning, ubecause I was with you.

Acts 20:22-23

22And now, behold, I am going to Jerusalem, constrained vby
Or bound in
the Spirit, not knowing what will happen to me there,
23except that xthe Holy Spirit testifies to me in every city that yimprisonment and zafflictions await me.

Acts 21:11

11And coming to us, he aatook Paul’s belt and bound his own feet and hands and said, abThus says the Holy Spirit, ac‘This is how the Jews
Greek Ioudaioi probably refers here to Jewish religious leaders, and others under their influence, in that time
at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and aedeliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’”
