Isaiah 34:2-8

2For the Lord is enraged against all the nations,
and furious against all their host;
he has adevoted them to destruction,
That is, set apart ( devoted) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction); also verse 5
has given them over for slaughter.
3Their slain shall be cast out,
and cthe stench of their corpses shall rise;
dthe mountains shall flow with their blood.
4 eAll the host of heaven shall rot away,
and the skies roll up like a scroll.
All their host shall fall,
as leaves fall from the vine,
like leaves falling from the fig tree.
5 For my sword has drunk its fill in the heavens;
behold, it descends for judgment upon fEdom,
upon the people gI have devoted to destruction.
6The Lord has a sword; it is sated with blood;
it is gorged with fat,
with the blood of lambs and goats,
with the fat of the kidneys of rams.
hFor the Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah,
a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
7 iWild oxen shall jfall with them,
and kyoung steers with lthe mighty bulls.
Their land shall drink its fill of blood,
and their soil shall be gorged with fat.
8 mFor the Lord has a day of vengeance,
a year of recompense for the cause of Zion.

Isaiah 63:1-7

The Lord’s Day of Vengeance

1 Who is this who comes from nEdom,
in crimsoned garments from oBozrah,
he who is splendid in his apparel,
pmarching in the greatness of his strength?
“It is I, speaking in righteousness,
mighty to save.”
2 Why is your qapparel red,
and your garments like his rwho treads in the winepress?
3 s“I have trodden the winepress alone,
tand from the peoples no one was with me;
I trod them in my anger
and trampled them in my wrath;
their lifeblood
Or  their juice; also verse 6
spattered on my garments,
and stained all my apparel.
4 vFor the day of vengeance was in my heart,
and my year of redemption
Or the year of my redeemed
had come.
5I looked, but xthere was no one to help;
I was appalled, but there was no one to uphold;
so my own arm brought me salvation,
and my wrath upheld me.
6I trampled down the peoples in my anger;
yI made them drunk in my wrath,
and I poured out their lifeblood on the earth.”

The Lord’s Mercy Remembered

7 I will recount the steadfast love of the Lord,
the praises of the Lord,
according to all that the Lord has granted us,
zand the great goodness to the house of Israel
that he has granted them according to his compassion,
according to the abundance of his steadfast love.

Ezekiel 38:8-23

8 aaAfter many days you will be mustered. abIn the latter years you will go against acthe land that is restored from war, the land whose people adwere gathered from many peoples upon aethe mountains of Israel, which had been a continual waste. Its people were brought out from the peoples and afnow dwell securely, all of them. 9You will advance, coming on aglike a storm. You will be ahlike a cloud covering the land, you and all your aihordes, and many peoples with you.

10Thus says the Lord God: On that day, ajthoughts will come into your mind, and you will devise an evil scheme 11and say, ‘I will go up against akthe land of unwalled villages. I will fall upon althe quiet people who dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having no bars or gates,’ 12to seize spoil and carry off plunder, to turn your hand against amthe waste places that are now inhabited, and anthe people who were gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, aowho dwell at the center of the earth. 13 apSheba and aqDedan and the merchants of Tarshish and all arits leaders
Hebrew young lions
will say to you, ‘Have you come to seize spoil? Have you assembled your hosts to carry off plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to seize great spoil?’

14Therefore, atson of man, prophesy, and say to auGog, Thus says the Lord God: On that day when my people Israel are avdwelling securely, awwill you not know it? 15You will come from your place out of axthe uttermost parts of the north, you and aymany peoples with you, azall of them riding on horses, a great host, a mighty army. 16You will come up against my people Israel, balike a cloud covering the land. bbIn the latter days I will bring you against my land, that the nations may know me, when through you, O Gog, bcI vindicate my holiness before their eyes.

17Thus says the Lord God: Are you bdhe of whom I spoke in former days by my servants the prophets of Israel, who in those days prophesied for years that I would bring you against them? 18But on that day, the day that Gog shall come against the land of Israel, declares the Lord God, bemy wrath will be roused in my anger. 19For bfin my jealousy and in my blazing wrath I declare, On that day bgthere shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. 20 bhThe fish of the sea and the birds of the heavens and the beasts of the field and all creeping things that creep on the ground, and all the people who are on the face of the earth, bishall quake at my presence. And bjthe mountains shall be thrown down, and the cliffs shall fall, and every wall shall tumble to the ground. 21 bkI will summon a sword against Gog
Hebrew  against him
on all my mountains, declares the Lord God. bmEvery man’s sword will be against his brother.
22With pestilence and bloodshed bnI will enter into judgment with him, and boI will rain upon him and bphis hordes and the many peoples who are with him bqtorrential rains and hailstones, brfire and sulfur. 23So I will show my greatness and my bsholiness and btmake myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then buthey will know that I am the Lord.

Ezekiel 39:8-20

8 bvBehold, it is coming and it will be brought about, declares the Lord God. That is the day bwof which I have spoken.

9“Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out and bxmake fires of the weapons and burn them, shields and bucklers, bow and arrows, byclubs
Or javelins
and spears; and they will make fires of them for seven years,
10so that they will not need to take wood out of the field or cut down any out of the forests, for cathey will make their fires of the weapons. cbThey will seize the spoil of those who despoiled them, and plunder those who plundered them, declares the Lord God.

11“On that day I will give to ccGog a place for burial in Israel, the Valley of the Travelers, east of the sea. It will block the travelers, for there Gog and all his multitude will be buried. It will be called the Valley of cdHamon-gog.
 Hamon-gog means the multitude of Gog
12For cfseven months the house of Israel will be burying them, in order cgto cleanse the land. 13All the people of the land will bury them, and it will bring them renown on the day that chI show my glory, declares the Lord God. 14They will set apart men to travel through the land regularly and bury those travelers remaining on the face of the land, so as cito cleanse it. At
Or Until
the end of ckseven months they will make their search.
15And when these travel through the land and anyone sees a human bone, then he shall set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the Valley of clHamon-gog. 16(Hamonah
 Hamonah means multitude
is also the name of the city.) Thus shall they cleanse the land.

17“As for you, cnson of man, thus says the Lord God: coSpeak to cpthe birds of every sort and to cqall beasts of the field: ‘Assemble and come, gather from all around to crthe sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you, a great sacrificial feast on the mountains of Israel, and you shall eat flesh and drink blood. 18 csYou shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth—of rams, of lambs, and of he-goats, of bulls, all of them ctfat beasts of Bashan. 19And you shall eat fat till you are filled, and drink blood till you are drunk, at the sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you. 20And you shall be filled at my table with horses and charioteers, with mighty men and all kinds of warriors,’ declares the Lord God.

Joel 3:2

2 cuI will gather all the nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. And cvI will enter into judgment with them there, on behalf of my people and my heritage Israel, because they have scattered them among the nations and have divided up my land,

Revelation of John 16:14-16

14For they are cwdemonic spirits, cxperforming signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world, cyto assemble them for battle on czthe great day of God the Almighty. 15(“Behold, daI am coming like a thief! dbBlessed is the one who stays awake, keeping his garments on, dcthat he may not go about naked and be seen exposed!”) 16And ddthey assembled them at the place that in Hebrew is called deArmageddon.

Revelation of John 19:19-21

19And I saw dfthe beast and the kings of the earth with their armies dggathered to make war against him who was sitting on the horse and against his army. 20And the beast was captured, and with it dhthe false prophet diwho in its presence
Or on its behalf
had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who dkworshiped its image. These two were dlthrown alive into the lake of dmfire that burns with sulfur.
21And the rest were slain by the sword dnthat came from the mouth of him who was sitting on the horse, and doall the birds were gorged with their flesh.
