Isaiah 34:8-17

8 aFor the Lord has a day of vengeance,
a year of recompense for the cause of Zion.
9 bAnd the streams of Edom
Hebrew her streams
shall be turned into pitch,
and her soil into sulfur;
her land shall become burning pitch.
10Night and day dit shall not be quenched;
eits smoke shall go up forever.
fFrom generation to generation it shall lie waste;
none shall pass through it forever and ever.
11 gBut the hawk and the porcupine
The identity of the animals rendered  hawk and  porcupine is uncertain
shall possess it,
the owl and the raven shall dwell in it.
iHe shall stretch the line of jconfusion
Hebrew formlessness
over it,
and the plumb line of emptiness.
12Its nobles—there is no one there to call it a kingdom,
and all its princes shall be nothing.
13 lThorns shall grow over its strongholds,
nettles and thistles in its fortresses.
It shall be the haunt of mjackals,
an abode for ostriches.
Or owls

14 oAnd wild animals shall meet with hyenas;
the wild goat shall cry to his fellow;
indeed, there the night bird
Identity uncertain
settles
and finds for herself a resting place.
15 There the owl nests and lays
and hatches and gathers her young in her shadow;
indeed, there qthe hawks are gathered,
each one with her mate.
16Seek and read from the book of the Lord:
Not one of these shall be missing;
none shall be without her mate.
For the mouth of the Lord has commanded,
and his Spirit has gathered them.
17 rHe has cast the lot for them;
his hand has portioned it out to them with the line;
they shall possess it forever;
from generation to generation they shall dwell in it.

Jeremiah 50:40-41

40 sAs when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring cities, declares the Lord, tso no man shall dwell there, and no son of man shall sojourn in her.

41 uBehold, a people comes from the north;
a mighty nation and many kings
are stirring from the farthest parts of the earth.

Revelation of John 18:20-24

20 vRejoice over her, O heaven,
and you saints and wapostles and prophets,
for xGod has given judgment for you against her!”
21Then ya mighty angel ztook up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying,

So will Babylon aathe great city be thrown down with violence,
and will be found no more;
22and abthe sound of harpists and musicians, of flute players and trumpeters,
will be heard in you no more,
and a craftsman of any craft
will be found in you no more,
and acthe sound of the mill
will be heard in you no more,
23and the light of a lamp
will shine in you no more,
and adthe voice of bridegroom and bride
will be heard in you no more,
for aeyour merchants were the great ones of the earth,
and all nations were deceived afby your sorcery.
24And agin her was found the blood of prophets and of saints,
and of ahall who have been slain on earth.”
