Isaiah 34:9-12

9 ^aAnd the streams of Edom ^{▼▼Hebrew her streams} shall be turned into pitch,
and her soil into sulfur;
her land shall become burning pitch.
10 Night and day ^cit shall not be quenched;
^dits smoke shall go up forever.
^eFrom generation to generation it shall lie waste;
none shall pass through it forever and ever.
11 ^fBut the hawk and the porcupine ^{▼▼The identity of the animals rendered hawk and porcupine is uncertain} shall possess it,
the owl and the raven shall dwell in it.
^hHe shall stretch the line of ⁱconfusion ^{▼▼Hebrew formlessness} over it,
and the plumb line of emptiness.
12 Its nobles—there is no one there to call it a kingdom,
and all its princes shall be nothing.

Jeremiah 49:16-18

16 The horror you inspire has deceived you,
and the pride of your heart,

Ezekiel 25:13-14

13 therefore thus says the Lord God, ^tI will stretch out my hand against Edom and cut off from it man and beast. And I will make it desolate; from ^uTeman even to ^vDedan they shall fall by the sword. 14 And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom ^wby the hand of my people Israel, and they shall do in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath, and ^xthey shall know my vengeance, declares the Lord God.

Ezekiel 36:3-4

14 therefore you shall no longer devour people and no longer bereave your nation of children, declares the Lord God. 15 And I will not let you hear anymore ^ahthe reproach of the nations, and you shall no longer bear the disgrace of the peoples and no longer cause your nation to stumble, declares the Lord God.”
