Isaiah 34:9-15

9 aAnd the streams of Edom
Hebrew her streams
shall be turned into pitch,
and her soil into sulfur;
her land shall become burning pitch.
10Night and day cit shall not be quenched;
dits smoke shall go up forever.
eFrom generation to generation it shall lie waste;
none shall pass through it forever and ever.
11 fBut the hawk and the porcupine
The identity of the animals rendered  hawk and  porcupine is uncertain
shall possess it,
the owl and the raven shall dwell in it.
hHe shall stretch the line of iconfusion
Hebrew formlessness
over it,
and the plumb line of emptiness.
12Its nobles—there is no one there to call it a kingdom,
and all its princes shall be nothing.
13 kThorns shall grow over its strongholds,
nettles and thistles in its fortresses.
It shall be the haunt of ljackals,
an abode for ostriches.
Or owls

14 nAnd wild animals shall meet with hyenas;
the wild goat shall cry to his fellow;
indeed, there the night bird
Identity uncertain
settles
and finds for herself a resting place.
15 There the owl nests and lays
and hatches and gathers her young in her shadow;
indeed, there pthe hawks are gathered,
each one with her mate.

Jeremiah 49:13

13 qFor I have sworn by myself, declares the Lord, that rBozrah shall become sa horror, a taunt, a waste, and a curse, and all her cities shall be perpetual wastes.”

Ezekiel 25:13

13therefore thus says the Lord God, tI will stretch out my hand against Edom and cut off from it man and beast. And I will make it desolate; from uTeman even to vDedan they shall fall by the sword.

Ezekiel 35:7

7 wI will make Mount Seir a waste xand a desolation, and I will cut off from it yall who come and go.

Ezekiel 35:15

15As you zrejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so I will deal with you; you shall be desolate, aaMount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then abthey will know that I am the Lord.
