Isaiah 34:9-15

9 aAnd the streams of Edom
Hebrew her streams
shall be turned into pitch,
and her soil into sulfur;
her land shall become burning pitch.
10Night and day cit shall not be quenched;
dits smoke shall go up forever.
eFrom generation to generation it shall lie waste;
none shall pass through it forever and ever.
11 fBut the hawk and the porcupine
The identity of the animals rendered  hawk and  porcupine is uncertain
shall possess it,
the owl and the raven shall dwell in it.
hHe shall stretch the line of iconfusion
Hebrew formlessness
over it,
and the plumb line of emptiness.
12Its nobles—there is no one there to call it a kingdom,
and all its princes shall be nothing.
13 kThorns shall grow over its strongholds,
nettles and thistles in its fortresses.
It shall be the haunt of ljackals,
an abode for ostriches.
Or owls

14 nAnd wild animals shall meet with hyenas;
the wild goat shall cry to his fellow;
indeed, there the night bird
Identity uncertain
settles
and finds for herself a resting place.
15 There the owl nests and lays
and hatches and gathers her young in her shadow;
indeed, there pthe hawks are gathered,
each one with her mate.

Jeremiah 49:17-18

17 qEdom shall become a horror. rEveryone who passes by it will be horrified sand will hiss because of all its disasters. 18 tAs when Sodom and Gomorrah and their uneighboring cities were overthrown, says the Lord, vno man shall dwell there, wno man shall sojourn in her.

Ezekiel 25:13-14

13therefore thus says the Lord God, xI will stretch out my hand against Edom and cut off from it man and beast. And I will make it desolate; from yTeman even to zDedan they shall fall by the sword. 14And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom aaby the hand of my people Israel, and they shall do in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath, and abthey shall know my vengeance, declares the Lord God.

Ezekiel 35:2-15

2 acSon of man, adset your face aeagainst afMount Seir, and prophesy against it, 3and say to it, Thus says the Lord God: agBehold, I am against you, Mount Seir, and ahI will stretch out my hand against you, aiand I will make you a desolation and a waste. 4 ajI will lay your cities waste, and you shall become a desolation, and you shall know that I am the Lord. 5Because akyou cherished perpetual enmity and gave over the people of Israel to the power of the sword alat the time of their calamity, amat the time of their final punishment, 6therefore, anas I live, declares the Lord God, I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you; aobecause you did not hate bloodshed, therefore blood shall pursue you. 7 apI will make Mount Seir a waste aqand a desolation, and I will cut off from it arall who come and go. 8And I will fill asits mountains with the slain. On your hills and in your valleys and in all atyour ravines authose slain with the sword shall fall. 9 avI will make you a perpetual desolation, and awyour cities shall not be inhabited. Then axyou will know that I am the Lord.

10Because you said, ay‘These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and azwe will take possession of them’—although the baLord was there 11therefore, bbas I live, declares the Lord God, I will deal with you bcaccording to the anger and bdenvy that you showed because of your hatred against them. And beI will make myself known among them, when I judge you. 12And you shall know that I am the Lord.

bf“I have heard all the revilings that you uttered against the mountains of Israel, saying, ‘They are laid desolate; bgthey are given us to devour.’
13And bhyou magnified yourselves against me biwith your mouth, and multiplied your words against me; I heard it. 14Thus says the Lord God: bjWhile the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate. 15As you bkrejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so I will deal with you; you shall be desolate, blMount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then bmthey will know that I am the Lord.

Joel 3:19

19 bnEgypt shall become a desolation
and boEdom a desolate wilderness,
bpfor the violence done to the people of Judah,
because they have shed innocent blood in their land.

Obadiah 18

18 bqThe house of Jacob shall be a fire,
and the house of Joseph a flame,
and the house of Esau brstubble;
they shall burn them and consume them,
bsand there shall be no survivor for the house of Esau,

for the Lord has spoken.
