Isaiah 36:18-19
18Beware lest Hezekiah mislead you by saying, “The Lord will deliver us.” Has any of the gods of the nations delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria? 19 aWhere are the gods of bHamath and cArpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim? dHave they delivered Samaria out of my hand?Isaiah 37:12
12 eHave the gods of the nations delivered them, the nations that my fathers destroyed, fGozan, gHaran, Rezeph, and the people of Eden who were in Telassar?Isaiah 37:19
19and have cast their gods into the fire. For they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone. Therefore they were destroyed.Isaiah 44:17
17And the rest of it he makes into a god, his idol, and falls down to it and worships it. hHe prays to it and says, “Deliver me, for you are my god!”Isaiah 45:20
20 i“Assemble yourselves and come;draw near together,
you survivors of the nations!
jThey have no knowledge
who kcarry about their wooden idols,
land keep on praying to a god
that cannot save.
