Isaiah 37:10-13

10Thus shall you speak to Hezekiah king of Judah: a‘Do not let your God in whom you trust deceive you by promising that Jerusalem will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria. 11Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, devoting them to destruction. And shall you be delivered? 12 bHave the gods of the nations delivered them, the nations that my fathers destroyed, cGozan, dHaran, Rezeph, and the people of Eden who were in Telassar? 13 eWhere is the king of Hamath, the king of Arpad, the king of the city of Sepharvaim, the king of Hena, or the king of Ivvah?’”

30and the king answered and said, h“Is not this great Babylon, which I have built by imy mighty power as a royal residence and for jthe glory of my majesty?” 31 kWhile the words were still in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, “O King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: The kingdom has departed from you, 32 land you shall be driven from among men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. And you shall be made to eat grass like an ox, and seven periods of time shall pass over you, muntil you know that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will.” 33Immediately the word was fulfilled against Nebuchadnezzar. nHe was driven from among men and ate grass like an ox, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair grew as long as eagles’ feathers, and his nails were like birds’ claws.

Nebuchadnezzar Restored

34 oAt the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and pmy reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and praised and honored qhim who lives forever,

rfor his dominion is an everlasting dominion,
and shis kingdom endures from generation to generation;
35 tall the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing,
and uhe does according to his will among the host of heaven
and among the inhabitants of the earth;
vand none can stay his hand
or wsay to him, “What have you done?”
36At the same time xmy reason returned to me, and for ythe glory of my kingdom, zmy majesty and splendor returned to me. aaMy counselors and abmy lords sought me, and I was established in my kingdom, and still more greatness was acadded to me. 37Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, adpraise and extol and honor the aeKing of heaven, affor all his works are right and his ways are just; and agthose who walk in pride he is able to humble.

4Though you soar aloft like the eagle,
though your nest is set among the stars,
from there I will bring you down,

declares the Lord.
