Isaiah 40:1-2

Comfort for God’s People

1 aComfort, comfort my people, says your God.
2 bSpeak tenderly to Jerusalem,
and cry to her
that cher warfare
Or hardship
is ended,
that her iniquity is pardoned,
that she has received from the Lord’s hand
double for all her sins.

Isaiah 49:13

13 eSing for joy, O heavens, and exult, O earth;
break forth, O mountains, into singing!
For the Lord fhas comforted his people
and will have compassion on his afflicted.

Isaiah 51:3

3For the Lord gcomforts Zion;
he comforts all her waste places
and makes her wilderness like hEden,
her desert like ithe garden of the Lord;
jjoy and gladness will be found in her,
thanksgiving and the voice of song.

I hid my face from you,

Isaiah 66:13

13As one whom his mother comforts,
so sI will comfort you;
you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

Jeremiah 31:13

13 tThen shall the young women rejoice in the dance,
and the young men and the old shall be merry.

I will comfort them, and give them gladness for sorrow.

Zephaniah 3:15-17

15The Lord has taken away the judgments against you;
he has cleared away your enemies.

you shall never again fear evil.

Fear not, O Zion;
ylet not your hands grow weak.
