Isaiah 41:5-8

5 aThe coastlands have seen and are afraid;
the ends of the earth tremble;
they have drawn near and come.
6Everyone helps his neighbor
and says to his brother, “Be strong!”
7 bThe craftsman strengthens the goldsmith,
and he who smooths with the hammer him who strikes the anvil,
saying of the soldering, “It is good”;
and they strengthen it with nails cso that it cannot be moved.
8 But you, Israel, dmy servant,
Jacob, ewhom I have chosen,
the offspring of Abraham, fmy friend;

Isaiah 50:11

11Behold, all you who kindle a fire,
who equip yourselves with burning torches!
Walk by the light of your fire,
and by the torches that you have kindled!
gThis you have from my hand:
you shall lie down in torment.

Isaiah 55:2

2 hWhy do you spend your money for that which is not bread,
and your labor for that which does not satisfy?
Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good,
and delight yourselves in rich food.

Jeremiah 51:58

58 Thus says the Lord of hosts:
The broad iwall of Babylon
shall be leveled to the ground,
jand her high gates
shall be burned with fire.
kThe peoples labor for nothing,
and lthe nations weary themselves only for fire.”

Jeremiah 51:64

64and say, mThus shall Babylon sink, to rise no more, because of the disaster that I am bringing upon her, nand they shall become exhausted.’”

Malachi 1:4

4If Edom says, “We are shattered but we will rebuild the ruins,” the Lord of hosts says, “They may build, but I will tear down, and they will be called ‘the wicked country,’ and ‘the people with whom the Lord is angry forever.’”
