Isaiah 42:1

The Lord’s Chosen Servant

1 aBehold bmy servant, whom I uphold,
my chosen, cin whom my soul delights;
dI have put my Spirit upon him;
ehe will bring forth justice to the nations.

Isaiah 50:7-9

7 But the Lord God helps me;
therefore I have not been disgraced;
ftherefore I have set my face like a flint,
and I know that I shall not be put to shame.
8 gHe who vindicates me is near.
Who will contend with me?
Let us stand up together.
Who is my adversary?
Let him come near to me.
9 hBehold, the Lord God helps me;
who will declare me guilty?
Behold, all of them will wear out like a garment;
the moth will eat them up.

Acts 2:24-32

24 iGod raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because jit was not possible for him to be held by it. 25For David says concerning him,

k“‘I saw the Lord always before me,
for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken;
26therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced;
my flesh also will dwell lin hope.
27For you will not abandon my soul to mHades,
nor let your oHoly One psee corruption.
28You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’
29Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about qthe patriarch David rthat he both died and swas buried, and this tomb is with us to this day. 30 uBeing therefore a prophet, and knowing that vGod had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, 31he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that whe was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. 32This Jesus xGod raised up, yand of that we all are witnesses.
