Isaiah 42:1-4

The Lord’s Chosen Servant

1 ^aBehold ^bmy servant, whom I uphold,
my chosen, ^cin whom my soul delights;
^dI have put my Spirit upon him;
^ehe will bring forth justice to the nations.
2 He will not cry aloud or lift up his voice,
or make it heard in the street;
3 ^fa bruised reed he will not break,
and a faintly burning wick he will not quench;
^ghe will faithfully bring forth justice.
4 He will not grow faint or be discouraged ^{▼▼Or bruised}
till he has established justice in the earth;
and ⁱthe coastlands wait for his law.

Isaiah 48:16

16 ^jDraw near to me, hear this:
from the beginning I have not spoken in secret,
from the time it came to be I have been there.”
And now ^kthe Lord God has sent me, and his Spirit.

Isaiah 61:1-3

The Year of the Lord’s Favor

1 ^lThe Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has ^manointed me

he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,

^rand the day of vengeance of our God;
to comfort all who mourn;
3 to grant to those who mourn in Zion—
^sto give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
^tthe oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;
^uthat they may be called oaks of righteousness,

John 6:38-40

38 For ^xI have come down from heaven, not to do ^ymy own will but ^zthe will of him ^aawho sent me. 39 And ^abthis is the will of him who sent me, ^acthat I should lose nothing of ^adall that he has given me, but ^aeraise it up on the last day. 40 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who ^aflooks on the Son and ^agbelieves in him ^ahshould have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

John 20:21
