Isaiah 42:6-7

6I am the Lord; aI have called you
The Hebrew for  you is singular; four times in this verse
in righteousness;
I will take you by the hand and keep you;
I will give you cas a covenant for the people,
da light for the nations,
7 eto open the eyes that are blind,
to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon,
ffrom the prison those who sit in darkness.

Isaiah 49:6

6he says:
“It is too light a thing that you should be my servant
to raise up the tribes of Jacob
and to bring back the preserved of Israel;
gI will make you has a light for the nations,
that imy salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”

Isaiah 60:1-3

The Future Glory of Israel

1 jArise, shine, for your light has come,
and kthe glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
2For behold, darkness shall cover the earth,
and thick darkness the peoples;
but the Lord will arise upon you,
and his glory will be seen upon you.
3 lAnd nations shall come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your rising.

Malachi 4:2

John 1:4-9

John 3:19-21

John 8:12

I Am the Light of the World

12 ajAgain Jesus spoke to them, saying, akI am the light of the world. Whoever alfollows me will not amwalk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

John 12:35-36

35So Jesus said to them, an“The light is among you aofor a little while longer. apWalk while you have the light, lest darkness aqovertake you. arThe one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going. 36While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become assons of light.”

The Unbelief of the People

When Jesus had said these things, he departed and hid himself from them.

John 12:46

46 atI have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.
