25who frustrates the signs of liars
and makes fools of diviners,
awho turns wise men back
and makes their knowledge foolish,

Daniel 2:2-10

2Then the king commanded that bthe magicians, cthe enchanters, the dsorcerers, and ethe Chaldeans be summoned to tell the king his dreams. So they came in and fstood before the king. 3And the king said to them, “I had a dream, and gmy spirit is troubled to know the dream.” 4Then hthe Chaldeans said to the king in Aramaic,

j“O king, live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will show the interpretation.”
5The king answered and said to kthe Chaldeans, “The word from me is firm: if you do not make known to me the dream and its interpretation, you shall be ltorn limb from limb, mand your nhouses shall be laid in ruins. 6But if you show the dream and its interpretation, oyou shall receive from me gifts and rewards and great honor. pTherefore show me the dream and its interpretation.” 7They answered a second time and said, “Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will show its interpretation.” 8The king answered and said, “I know with certainty that you are trying to qgain time, because you see that the word from me is firm 9if you do not make the dream known to me, rthere is but one sentence for you. You have agreed to speak lying and corrupt words before me till sthe times change. tTherefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that you can show me its interpretation.” 10 uThe Chaldeans answered the king and said, “There is not a man on earth who can meet the king’s demand, for no great and powerful king has asked such a thing of any magician or enchanter or vChaldean.

Daniel 5:7-8

7 wThe king called loudly to bring in xthe enchanters, the yChaldeans, and zthe astrologers. The king declared

to the wise men of Babylon, abWhoever reads this writing, and shows me its interpretation, shall be clothed with purple and have a chain of gold around his neck and acshall be the third ruler in the kingdom.”
8Then all the king’s wise men came in, but adthey could not read the writing or make known to the king the interpretation.

Daniel 5:15-16

15Now aethe wise men, the afenchanters, have been brought in before me to read this writing and make known to me its interpretation, but agthey could not show the interpretation of the matter. 16 ahBut I have heard that you can give interpretations and aisolve problems. ajNow if you can read the writing and make known to me its interpretation, akyou shall be clothed with purple and have a chain of gold around your neck and alshall be the third ruler in the kingdom.”

Daniel 5:30
