Cyrus, God’s Instrument

1 Thus says the Lord to dhis anointed, to Cyrus,
ewhose right hand I have grasped,
to subdue nations before him
and fto loose the belts of kings,
to open doors before him
that gates may not be closed:
2I will go before you
and glevel the exalted places,

iI will break in pieces the doors of bronze
and cut through the bars of iron,
3 jI will give you the treasures of darkness
and the hoards in secret places,

and Israel my chosen,
lI call you by your name,
mI name you, though you do not know me.
5 nI am the Lord, and there is no other,
besides me there is no God;
oI equip you, though you do not know me,

Daniel 2:32

Daniel 5:28-31

28Peres, your kingdom is divided and given to sthe Medes and tPersians.”
 Peres (the singular of  Parsin) sounds like the Aramaic for  divided and for Persia


29Then vBelshazzar gave the command, and Daniel wwas clothed with purple, a chain of gold was put around his neck, and a proclamation was made about him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.

Daniel 7:5

5And behold, adanother beast, a second one, like a bear. It was raised up on one side. It had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth; and it was told, ‘Arise, devour much flesh.’

Daniel 8:3-4

3I raised my eyes and saw, and behold, aea ram standing on the bank of the canal. It had two horns, and both horns were high, but one was higher than the other, and the higher one came up last. 4I saw afthe ram charging westward and northward and southward. No agbeast ahcould stand before him, aiand there was no one who could rescue from his power. ajHe did as he pleased and akbecame great.

Daniel 8:20

20As for althe ram that you saw with the two horns, these are the kings of amMedia and Persia.

Daniel 11:2

2“And now I will show you anthe truth. Behold, three more kings shall arise in Persia, and a fourth shall be far richer than all of them. And when he has become strong through his riches, he shall stir up all against the kingdom of Greece.
