Isaiah 44:4-5

4They shall spring up among the grass
alike willows by flowing streams.
5 bThis one will say, ‘I am the Lord’s,’
another will call on the name of Jacob,
and another will write on his hand, ‘The Lord’s,’
and name himself by the name of Israel.”

Isaiah 60:1-9

The Future Glory of Israel

1 cArise, shine, for your light has come,
and dthe glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
2For behold, darkness shall cover the earth,
and thick darkness the peoples;
but the Lord will arise upon you,
and his glory will be seen upon you.
3 eAnd nations shall come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your rising.
4 fLift up your eyes all around, and see;
they all gather together, they come to you;
gyour sons shall come from afar,
and your daughters shall be carried on the hip.
5Then you shall see and hbe radiant;
your heart shall thrill and exult,
Hebrew  your heart shall tremble and grow wide

because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you,
jthe wealth of the nations shall come to you.
6A multitude of camels shall cover you,
the young camels of kMidian and lEphah;
all those from mSheba shall come.
nThey shall bring gold and frankincense,
and shall bring good news, the praises of the Lord.
7All the flocks of oKedar shall be gathered to you;
the rams of pNebaioth shall minister to you;
qthey shall come up with acceptance on my altar,
rand I will beautify my beautiful house.
8 Who are these that fly like a cloud,
and slike doves to their windows?
9For tthe coastlands shall hope for me,
uthe ships of Tarshish first,
vto bring your children from afar,
their silver and gold with them,
for the name of the Lord your God,
and for the Holy One of Israel,
because whe has made you beautiful.

Hebrews 11:32-40

32And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell of awGideon, axBarak, aySamson, azJephthah, of baDavid and bbSamuel and the prophets 33who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, obtained promises, bcstopped the mouths of lions, 34 bdquenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were made strong out of weakness, bebecame mighty in war, bfput foreign armies to flight. 35 bgWomen received back their dead by resurrection. Some were tortured, refusing to accept release, so that they might rise again to a better life. 36Others suffered mocking and flogging, and even bhchains and imprisonment. 37 biThey were stoned, they were sawn in two,
Some manuscripts add they were tempted
bkthey were killed with the sword. blThey went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, mistreated
38of whom the world was not worthybmwandering about in deserts and mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

39And all these, bnthough commended through their faith, bodid not receive what was promised, 40since God had provided something better for us, bpthat apart from us they should not be made perfect.
