Isaiah 46:1-2

The Idols of Babylon and the One True God

1 ^aBel bows down; Nebo stoops;
their idols are on beasts and livestock;
these things you carry are borne
as burdens on weary beasts.
2 They stoop; they bow down together;
they cannot save the burden,
but ^bthemselves go into captivity.

Isaiah 57:9

9 You journeyed to the king with oil
and multiplied your perfumes;
^cyou sent your envoys far off,
and sent down even to Sheol.

Hosea 8:9-10

9 For ^dthey have gone up to Assyria,
^ea wild donkey wandering alone;
Ephraim has hired lovers.
