Isaiah 46:1-2

The Idols of Babylon and the One True God

1 ^aBel bows down; Nebo stoops;
their idols are on beasts and livestock;
these things you carry are borne
as burdens on weary beasts.
2 They stoop; they bow down together;
they cannot save the burden,
but ^bthemselves go into captivity.

Jeremiah 50:2

2 “Declare among the nations and proclaim,
set up a banner and proclaim,
conceal it not, and say:
^c‘Babylon is taken,
^dBel is put to shame,
Merodach is dismayed.
^eHer images are put to shame,
her idols are dismayed.’

Jeremiah 50:38

38 ^fA drought against her waters,
that they may be dried up!
^gFor it is a land of images,
and they are mad over idols.

Jeremiah 51:44

44 And I will punish ^hBel in Babylon,
and ⁱtake out of his mouth ^jwhat he has swallowed.
^kThe nations shall no longer flow to him;
^lthe wall of Babylon has fallen.

Jeremiah 51:47

47 “Therefore, behold, the days are coming
when ^mI will punish the images of Babylon;

and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.
