Isaiah 46:6-7

6 ^aThose who lavish gold from the purse,
and weigh out silver in the scales,
hire a goldsmith, and he makes it into a god;
^bthen they fall down and worship!
7 ^cThey lift it to their shoulders, they carry it,
they set it in its place, and it stands there;
^dit cannot move from its place.
If one cries to it, it does not answer
or save him from his trouble.

Jeremiah 10:9-10

9 ^eBeaten silver is brought from ^fTarshish,
and gold from ^gUphaz.
^hThey are the work of the craftsman and of the hands of the goldsmith;
their clothing is violet and purple;
ⁱthey are all the work of skilled men.
10 ^jBut the Lord is the true God;
^khe is the living God and the everlasting King.
At his wrath the earth quakes,
and the nations cannot endure his indignation.
