8 Thus says the Lord:
a“In a btime of favor I have answered you;
in a day of salvation I have helped you;
I will keep you cand give you
as a covenant to the people,
to establish the land,
dto apportion the desolate heritages,

Isaiah 51:3

3For the Lord ecomforts Zion;
he comforts all her waste places
and makes her wilderness like fEden,
her desert like gthe garden of the Lord;
hjoy and gladness will be found in her,
thanksgiving and the voice of song.

Isaiah 54:1-2

The Eternal Covenant of Peace

1 iSing, O barren one, who did not bear;
break forth into singing and cry aloud,
you who have not been in labor!
For the children of jthe desolate one kwill be more
than the children of her who is married,” says the Lord.
2 lEnlarge the place of your tent,
and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out;
do not hold back; lengthen your cords
and strengthen your stakes.

Jeremiah 30:18-19

18 Thus says the Lord:
Behold, mI will restore the fortunes of the tents of Jacob
and have compassion on his dwellings;
the city shall be rebuilt on nits mound,
and the palace shall stand where it used to be.
19 oOut of them shall come songs of thanksgiving,
and the voices of those who celebrate.
pI will multiply them, and they shall not be few;
I will make them honored, and they shall not be small.

Jeremiah 33:10-11

10Thus says the Lord: In this place qof which you say, ‘It is a waste without man or beast,’ in the cities of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem that are desolate, without man or inhabitant or beast, there shall be heard again 11 rthe voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voices of those who sing, as they bring sthank offerings to the house of the Lord:

t“‘Give thanks to the Lord of hosts,
for the Lord is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever!’
uFor I will restore the fortunes of the land as at first, says the Lord.

Ezekiel 36:9-15

9For vbehold, I am for you, and I will turn to you, and wyou shall be tilled and sown. 10And xI will multiply people on you, the whole house of Israel, all of it. yThe cities shall be inhabited and the waste places rebuilt. 11And I will multiply on you zman and beast, and aathey shall multiply and be fruitful. And I will cause you to be inhabited as in abyour former times, and acwill do more good to you than ever before. adThen you will know that I am the Lord. 12I will let people walk on you, even my people Israel. aeAnd they shall possess you, and you shall be their inheritance, and you shall no longer afbereave them of children. 13Thus says the Lord God: Because they say to you, ag‘You devour people, and you bereave your nation of children,’ 14therefore you shall no longer devour people and no longer bereave your nation of children, declares the Lord God. 15And I will not let you hear anymore ahthe reproach of the nations, and you shall no longer bear the disgrace of the peoples and no longer cause your nation to stumble, declares the Lord God.”
