21Woe to those who are awise in their own eyes,
and shrewd in their own sight!

Ezekiel 28:2-6

2 bSon of man, say to cthe prince of Tyre, Thus says the Lord God:

d“Because your heart is proud,
and eyou have said, ‘I am a god,
I sit in the seat of the gods,
in the heart of the seas,’
yet fyou are but a man, and no god,
gthough you make your heart like the heart of a god
3 hyou are indeed wiser ithan jDaniel;
no secret is hidden from you;
4by your wisdom and your understanding
kyou have made wealth for yourself,
and have gathered gold and silver
into your treasuries;
5by your great wisdom in your trade
you have increased your wealth,
and lyour heart has become proud in your wealth
6therefore thus says the Lord God:
mBecause you make your heart
like the heart of a god,

Romans 1:22

22 nClaiming to be wise, they became fools,

1 Corinthians 1:19-21

19For it is written,

o“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.”
20 pWhere is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? qHas not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach

to save those who believe.

1 Corinthians 3:19

19For sthe wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, t“He catches the wise in their craftiness,”
