Isaiah 59:11

Jeremiah 4:15-20

Anguish over Judah’s Desolation

for I hear the sound of the trumpet,
the alarm of war.
20 ^jCrash follows hard on crash;
the whole land is laid waste.
^kSuddenly my tents are laid waste,
my curtains in a moment.

Jeremiah 6:23-24

23 They lay hold on bow and javelin;
they are ^lcruel and have no mercy;
^mthe sound of them is like the roaring sea;
they ride on horses,
set in array as a man for battle,
against you, O daughter of Zion!”
24 We have heard the report of it;
ⁿour hands fall helpless;
anguish has taken hold of us,
^opain as of a woman in labor.

Jeremiah 8:19

19 Behold, the cry of the daughter of my people
from ^pthe length and breadth of the land:
“Is the Lord not in Zion?
^qIs her King not in her?”
^r“Why have they provoked me to anger with their carved images
and with their foreign idols?”

Jeremiah 9:19

19 For a sound of wailing is heard from Zion:

because we have left the land,
because they have cast down our dwellings.’”
