Isaiah 5:7

7 aFor the vineyard of the Lord of hosts
is the house of Israel,
and the men of Judah
are his pleasant planting;
and he looked for justice,
but behold, bloodshed;
The Hebrew words for  justice and  bloodshed sound alike

for righteousness,
but behold, an outcry!
The Hebrew words for  righteous and  outcry sound alike

Isaiah 59:14-15

Judgment and Redemption

14 dJustice is turned back,
and righteousness stands far away;
for truth has stumbled in the public squares,
and uprightness cannot enter.
15Truth is lacking,
and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey.
The Lord saw it, and it displeased him
Hebrew  and it was evil in his eyes

that there was no justice.

Jeremiah 5:1

look and take note!
Search her squares to see

one who does justice
and seeks truth,
hthat I may pardon her.

Hosea 4:1-2

Woe to Those at Ease in Zion

1 nWoe to those who are at ease in Zion,
and to those who feel secure on othe mountain of Samaria,
pthe notable men of qthe first of the nations,
to whom the house of Israel comes!
2Pass over to rCalneh, and see,
and from there go to sHamath the great;
then go down to tGath of the Philistines.
uAre you better than these kingdoms?
Or is their territory greater than your territory,
3 vO you who put far away the day of disaster
wand bring near the seat of violence?
4 “Woe to those xwho lie on ybeds of ivory
zand stretch themselves out on their couches,
and eat lambs from the flock
aaand calves from the midst of the stall,
5 abwho sing idle songs to the sound of the harp
and like David acinvent for themselves instruments of music,
6 adwho drink wine in bowls
and aeanoint themselves with the finest oils,
but are not grieved over the ruin of Joseph!

Matthew 23:23

23 afWoe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For agyou tithe mint and dill and ahcumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: aijustice and mercy and faithfulness. ajThese you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.
