Isaiah 50:2

2 aWhy, when I came, was there no man;
why, when I called, was there no one to answer?
bIs my hand shortened, that it cannot redeem?
Or have I no power to deliver?
cBehold, by my rebuke dI dry up the sea,
eI make the rivers a desert;
ftheir fish stink for lack of water
and die of thirst.

Isaiah 53:1

1 gWho has believed what he has heard from us?
Or  Who has believed what we have heard?

And to whom has ithe arm of the Lord been revealed?

John 1:11

11He came to jhis own,
Greek  to his own things; that is, to his own domain, or to his own people
and lhis own people
People is implied in Greek
ndid not receive him.

John 3:26

26And they came to John and said to him, oRabbi, he who was with you across the Jordan, pto whom you bore witnesslook, he is baptizing, and qall are going to him.”

John 3:33

33Whoever receives his testimony rsets his seal to this, sthat God is true.

Romans 10:16-21

16But tthey have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, uLord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” 17So vfaith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

18But I ask, have they not heard? Indeed they have, for

wTheir voice has gone out xto all the earth,
and their words to the ends of the world.”
19But I ask, did Israel not understand? First Moses says,

yI will zmake you jealous of those who are not a nation;
with a aafoolish nation I will make you angry.”
20Then Isaiah is so bold as to say,

ab“I have been found by those who did not seek me;
I have shown myself to those who did not ask for me.”
21But of Israel he says, acAll day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.”

Romans 11:2-6

2 adGod has not rejected his people whom he aeforeknew. Do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he appeals to God against Israel? 3 afLord, they have killed your prophets, they have demolished your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life.” 4But what is God’s reply to him? ag“I have kept for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” 5So too at the present time there is aha remnant, chosen by grace. 6 aiBut if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.
